First ugly monstersock done

First butt ugly Monstersock finished except for dealing with the ends. Each end is either knit in or out so all I have to do is trim (shag) each end so hopefully nothing will show up on the right side. Second sock started while watching the football game yesterday. Several daytime highs now above freezing means my driveway in places is solid ice, ever so glad I'm not planning on going anywhere.

  1. Personally I think the baby blue at the top, heel and toe keep this from being "butt ugly" and make it "stripy but cute".

Glad you aren't going anywhere on the ice. Here in Central Texas we had a dreadful ice storm two weeks ago and there are still thousands of piles of tree branches lining all the streets. Very sad to see the loss of so many old trees. Unlike lots of others, we never lost power, so something to be thankful for.

  2. Glad to see you're still going on. I missed reading blogs for a year and a half, and came back with some trepidation that I would find people had disappeared. Glad that is not the case. I enjoy hearing about your wild mountain valley.

    1. Have an old cuticle remover with a vee shaped end, I untwist each ply and then slide the vee shaped piece up and down until each is shaggy. Hopefully they won’t show up on the right side.

  6. I keep checking to see if you have finished the 2nd sock. What has the weather been like up in your area?
Here in Wisconsin we have up and down weather. Yesterday it was up to 50 degrees F and this morning we woke up to snow. The daffodil leaves have been up for several weeks, but keep getting covered with snow or rain/snow mix. Good thing they are hardy. It's been a good winter for knitting.
