This time a sow grizzly with two of this years cubs. Two pix altho first wasn't worth saving, second shows sow and the two cubs. Can just see my east fence in the background.
Wow! What a privilege to be able to see such wonderful creatures so close. I know you must be careful if you venture out, but to think that you can see them outside your window is amazing.
What a great photo! I too think it must be an incredible place. I am trying to picture how you all sneak out to your car or to the garden. It must be interesting.
4 more pair on needles, work on each for at least 10 rows every other day before putting it down. Blue pair is farest along and have everything ready for sock #2. Blue pair will be identical all the others fraternal. A couple of nights ago bout 9pm saw a blue heron land in tree just south of the house, watched it preen for some time and when it was to dark for a pix 2 more landed in tree beside the first. Same day saw a kingfisher dive towards the river. Bear activity has cooled down, assume they are over at the Chilko River system fishing for salmon. Last black I saw was just its backside as it headed for the west fence got a quick pix but not worth posting. Nothing much happening in my wild mountain valley these days, some ranchers have finally been able to start cutting hay, and everyone else is hoping for rain. So many bad fires in BC again this season.
Finally got myself to town Dec. 27-28. Prescriptions, haircut, groceries, and most important getting bank Visa problems straightened out. Tried dealing with bank via telephone and both times I connected got someone that wouldn't acknowledge that I was hard of hearing, heavy accents didn't help. Had 7 charges for Play Station almost $1000, since I've never even seen one, wasn't me . Because of all the weird charges they wouldn't activate the new Visa card. A good weather window opened so in I went, took almost an hour getting everything straightened out. Meanwhile when I did get to the grocery store almost filled my buggy with produce and fruit. Had help unloading the car when I got home Thursday 3 ish. Did bring a nasty bout of the local crud home with me, first time in several years that a cold hit me so hard. One of the first pair of Koigu gloves I did were for me, but last winter I snagged middle finger on a nail on my handrail, brought them up front, cut off da
In 2015 I sent Jean Miles in Edinburgh a surprise pair of the gloves I'd been working on while rereading her blogs, first pix one taken at her place. Second taken while dressed in woolies to go on an recent outing. Orangerinos all finished waiting for a dip thru a Eucalan bath. Current pair started with a base colour of turquoise, leftover Koigu choices are getting a bit thinner but still have enuff to finish this pair. When I first started saving Koigu it could be had for $9 a skein, now I believe its over $16 US (means almost $21 Canadian, plus crazy post from wherever it comes from). Also have socks on needles, this is one of the last pair ordered (ahem a couple of years ago), no pix yet as I believe they are to be a surprise. For the most part this winter has been verra mild, right now there isn't any snow, none. According to weather peoples we are due for another blast of arctic air next week. Yesterdays temps set records al over BC, it was 10.9
