Four Pair

Current socks on needles.
I try and work on each sock every day, maybe just a few rows but can actually see progress. Saturday the 7th was the Williams Lake spinning day, crowd limited to just 40, most long timers. Was verra glad to see old friends after 2 years. Some came from Kamloops, Prince George and everywhere inbetween. I took in the Louet S 90 spinning wheel that I promised to Tricia after she lost everything in the Lytton fire last year. A friend of hers picked wheel up and then took it to Lytton this weekend. Glad to finally have the wheel in its new home. This past Friday back to town for eye exam (overdue) and eyes dilated in preparation for upcoming cataract surgery, likely two months wait. And it will mean a trip to Kamloops somewhere on the journey (6 hour drive). Will be glad to have first eye done then another wait for second. Really noticing the slower eyes especially with fine sock knitting. Leave a comment if you've read the blog so I will know people actually do read it.

  1. I'm a long-time reader of your blog who really admires your beautiful sock creations. I've knit several dozen pairs of socks, but have never attempted your lovely designs. I certainly have enough little balls of yarn in many colours. Thanks for inspiring us with your photos.

  4. Hi, I have been reading your blog for a long time. I had the pleasure of meeting you once at the Oregon Flock and Fiber Festival a few years ago in Canby, Oregon. Please keep your blog going as I enjoy every entry. Good luck with your cataract surgery, mine both went really well.

  5. I enjoy your blog posts and pix from Maryland and will be thinking good thoughts as you head into your cataract surgery. My doc says that's probably in my future so I appreciate your sharing your experience. I just came back from both the Maryland Sheep & Wool and Shepherd's Harvest (Minnesota) festivals and all my good stash busting from the last couple of years has been, um, busted.

  6. Even I still read your blog & peer at the socks regularly!! You will love the cataract surgery - for the first time in my life I can see individual leaves on the trees across the street! No more coke bottle glasses. The only problem I have is reading fine print but dollar store cheaters solved the problem . . . . the surgery itself was so fast & easy. If I 'd known, I'd've done it years ago!!!! Good luck.

  8. I've been lurking here for many years. I knit a lot of socks - only one pair had a tiny bit of colorwork on the cuff; nothing as fine as yours.

  10. Always look forward to seeing your newest socks. They are so colorful and you do such a nice ob putting the colors together. I've knit a lot of socks but never the scrappy ones. Hate the thought of weaving in all those ends.

  13. After my mother had her cataract surgery she told me she wished she hadn’t done it. I was astonished until she confided that she hadn’t seen the dust before the surgery!

I do enjoy when you post about your life and 🧶 knitting. And i love hearing about the wildlife and weather, too.
