Grizzly #2 & Woolie stuff

Image
7:15 am had griz #2 walk right by east wool room window, then over to big pine tree for a good back scratch. TdF starts tomorrow and for a change I have 7 empty bobbins, will empty two more yet this morning. Have gone thru all fibre containers and got all various green out and will decide in the morning which one I will start with. Finished spinning the vintage Crown Mountains Farms merino, haven't a clue why I picked the colour, maybe plied with white or a dark gray might help. The engine light on my year old Subaru came on, took car into town to see if they could figure out problem, nope. So called Subaru in PG (closest dealer) they couldn't look at car for 10 days, tried Subaru dealer in Kamloops they've closed so headed south to Langley to dealer I bought car from. Turns out a mouse or mouses chewed a wire that  electronics didn't like, so engine light on, no cruise control and lots of other little issues. Car in overnight (got a courtesy car), firs...

More critters

Image
They are everywhere, 9:30 am and two black bear traveling together, imagine a sow with last years cub (pretty well full size). Last year I didn't see a bear in my yard, already this June have seen 5, 4 blacks and the one grizzly. Bear aware and ABC, (always be careful). Will check with other valley peoples to see if any one else is seeing as many as I do. The second pix was taken thru wool room window, can see edge of window frame, so critters were again fairly close. I am so glad that there are windows all around in the wool room, so for the most part any movement I usually see right away. Keeping camera close by. Now if I only knew how to get pix from laptop to iPad.

Grizzly

First grizzly for this year, busy eating sedge grass over by cattle guard, not all that far from my house. Just got two pix before he-she moved on, will keep camera handy just in case it shows back up. Click on pix to show bear better. Someone once asked me why I don't get closer pix, I didn't have to say anything, as soon as it was said person realized what they had said. Trip to town cancelled again, gout in my left ankle and foot wold make driving and walking most uncomfortable. As soon as the gout eases will undertake the trip. May go to Tatla tomorrow to see what produce they have on hand.

Flooding

Image
Load of laundry, wondering why its taking so long, bingo flood. Cold water didn't quit so over flowed the machine, turned off the cold water intake and then spun water out of machine. Not my idea of a good week. Meanwhile in the wool room everything seems to be going well. Finished plying the two bobbins of the orange, magenta pink and red bobbins with the plain orange. Have found all the green roving I own and have it draped across the folding drying rack. Once Tour de Fleece gets started will pick out what I want to spin. Found a ball of vintage Crown Mountain Farms roving in the colour way called Albatross, while waiting for TdF will spin it to just keep fingers limber. So far this year have seen two black bears, last year never had one in my yard, so this season is off to a bearly start. Both times the critters were not in a place to get a good pix, black up against dark bushes.
