Lynne, I really like this sweater; I'd like to think about making it, too. Could you give us a heads-up as to what the name of the sweater is so that we could track down the pattern? Thanks! Janet
THAT WAS THEN THIS IS NOW In a fit of depravity I ripped the above sock out, just wasn't happy working on it, so now its toast. And I feel better even seeing the small leftover balls. Went thru all project bags looking for my Koigu yarn, and in the bag found a glove already started. Back now to my much loved gloves. A number of years ago traded two different people gloves for 5 balls of Koigu each (was much cheaper then). Plus had bought lots from eBay, so have enuff to make many more pair, especially since I save all left over little balls. Eventually I'll go back to making socks (its in the blood). I'm not taking orders anymore tho, will just make what I like (especially Monster Socks). Maybe now and then a pair of fair isle type. Its going to be a brown and mild Christmas, one of the few since I've lived here. Snow in forecast for the middle of next week. The best part of the holiday season (IMHO) is the World Junior Hockey tournament, in Europe...
That was then This is now Finished this pair last night, came out better than I thought they would. Best part used up lots of small leftover balls. This is a pix of my wild mountain valley, unknown source for the pix. Went to town last Friday mostly to handle Visa problems (again). While there I found real field tomatoes at Beaver Valley feed store, not what I would call first quality but hey I know how to cut funny spots off. They taste good and that is the most important part. Did what I call down n dirty, in and out in one day (6 hours total driving). Plus several places to stop and walk around. Took me two days to recover. Grocery store was a bit of a winter stock up walk thru, TP, Scotties tissues, canned goods, extra salt, flour, things I don't want to run out of over the winter. With football season under way (both colle...
Winter so far has been relatively mild, no arctic air yet and very little snow. Think maybe 3-4 inches in total so far. I have finished a load of stuff, Fatties, Monster Socks, bed socks and two pair patterned and have more on the needles. Even tho its been mild I stay home and indoors, have a great fear of failing on slippery surfaces. Even with ice cleats on my boots and the ice spike on my cane. Really enjoyed the World Junior hockey games this winter, this time from Ottawa, Ontario so not to bad for time differences. Next year in Minnesota so time will be even better. Canada got booted out early, I don't think from what little I know that they brought their best players, USA ended up...
