Lynne, I really like this sweater; I'd like to think about making it, too. Could you give us a heads-up as to what the name of the sweater is so that we could track down the pattern? Thanks! Janet
THAT WAS THEN THIS IS NOW In a fit of depravity I ripped the above sock out, just wasn't happy working on it, so now its toast. And I feel better even seeing the small leftover balls. Went thru all project bags looking for my Koigu yarn, and in the bag found a glove already started. Back now to my much loved gloves. A number of years ago traded two different people gloves for 5 balls of Koigu each (was much cheaper then). Plus had bought lots from eBay, so have enuff to make many more pair, especially since I save all left over little balls. Eventually I'll go back to making socks (its in the blood). I'm not taking orders anymore tho, will just make what I like (especially Monster Socks). Maybe now and then a pair of fair isle type. Its going to be a brown and mild Christmas, one of the few since I've lived here. Snow in forecast for the middle of next week. The best part of the holiday season (IMHO) is the World Junior Hockey tournament, in Europe...
In 2015 I sent Jean Miles in Edinburgh a surprise pair of the gloves I'd been working on while rereading her blogs, first pix one taken at her place. Second taken while dressed in woolies to go on an recent outing. Orangerinos all finished waiting for a dip thru a Eucalan bath. Current pair started with a base colour of turquoise, leftover Koigu choices are getting a bit thinner but still have enuff to finish this pair. When I first started saving Koigu it could be had for $9 a skein, now I believe its over $16 US (means almost $21 Canadian, plus crazy post from wherever it comes from). Also have socks on needles, this is one of the last pair ordered (ahem a couple of years ago), no pix yet as I believe they are to be a surprise. For the most part this winter has been verra mild, right now there isn't any snow, none. According to weather peoples we are due for another blast of arctic a...
Long time. Made these for a lady in Banff, she chose the colours. When I sent a pix she said she didn't like where and how I'd placed the colours in the patterns. Slowly I replied. Then she said when I knit the next pair to put this colour with another etc, again slowly (burn underway) I told her that it didn't work that way. Wouldn't do another, so she said she'd take them the way they were with a discount. Honey, to late sold them elsewhere. And I 'm glad I don't take any money up front. Fraternal and size 10. Have come really close to making the ugliest Monstersocks, bottom pix are closest so far. Was without the internet from 15 - 29 April, amazing how much knitting time that freed up. Did the 3 pair shorties in that time frame, mix and match. All are the same number of rows approx sized 7.5 to 8.5. Next pair were to fill an older order. Spring has finally s...
