Ice

 All the December snow has melted and froze, now ice, could ice skate in the yard if so inclined. Fortunately my driveway is south facing and with care can be driven up. Weather for next week if well above freezing for daytime highs, barely freezing at night. Looking forward to mud. Due to arthritis in fingers of left hand I’m having to learn how to hold my yarn all over again. Ring finger which I mostly used to tension yarn is in time out, while I figure out a new way. One thing for sure is that I’m not quitting. Finished a pair of men’s sized bed socks aka shorties. It was the oldest UFO, from January of 2025. Next will be a light blue Hawthorne with greens and blues with a bit of turquoise for highlights. After they are finished with start on an order using earthy colours, various greens, browns (I think), and whatever else my stash throws up. Haven’t been to town to do any grocery shopping since mid October, out of milk, bread, eggs, produce and fruit. One of the joys living 3 ...

UFO’s

  Counted and bagged all UFO’s yesterday and was unhappy to find 7, the oldest going back to January 25 of last year. They are now sorted by age and in zip lock bags, will start with the oldest and then will do at least 10 rows on each every day. The shortie bed socks being the oldest got a bit over 20 rows this morning, this is second sock, now have heel turned and starting decreases down the foot. Using vintage Regia yarn and am impressed with how much smoother it is compared to current issues. Made New Year’s resolution to not buy any new sock yarn until at least fall of 26, so far even with everyone throwing pix of new colours am standing firm. Think I have enuff sock to make everyone I know a pair or two. Watching news MSNOW about another ICE fatal shooting in Minneapolis, breaks my heart to see how far down the rat hole things have gotten.
